SQUARE ENIX®’s celebrated and best-selling action RPG FINAL FANTASY® VII REMAKE was honored with two major awards at The Game Awards 2020, the video game industry’s biggest annual year-end celebration. FINAL FANTASY® VII REMAKE took home the Best RPG award, and the game’s unforgettable music earned the Best Score and Music award. In addition to winning those awards, the game was a finalist in four other categories at this year’s ceremony, including Best Art Direction, Best Narrative, Best Game Direction, and Game of the Year.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE has been praised by both players and critics across the globe, earning more than 20 perfect scores from media, and was selected as a PlayStation® “Editor’s Choice” pick. The game also became the highest-selling digital release on the PlayStation® platform in SQUARE ENIX’s history, exceeding more than five million shipments and digital sales worldwide since its release.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE is a reimagining of the legendary original game that redefined the RPG genre, and features unforgettable characters and a story revered as one of the most powerful within video games. The game draws players into a world where the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation, controls the planet’s very life force. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to an underground resistance group calling themselves Avalanche as they fight against Shinra’s oppressive force. The first game in the project is set in the eclectic and sprawling city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience that goes deeper into the iconic characters and world than ever before.
