February 10 is National Umbrella Day in America! FINAL FANTASY has a few umbrellas of its own – let’s take a look!

Joker (FFVI)

Encountered on the southernmost continent of the overworld, this umbrella-holding monster is no joke! If you don’t take it down quickly it may use Acid Rain, which does significant damage to the party and inflicts the Sap status effect. It seems Joker has that umbrella to protect from its own attacks!

Parasol (FFVII)

This weapon can be equipped by Aerith. Despite being a simple umbrella, it is quite powerful, although that’s balanced out by a lack of any materia slots. Its very high attack stat is especially unusual considering that Aerith is a magic user! As for how to obtain Aerith’s version of this weapon, a little bird told us that it can won in the Gold Saucer...

Beach Parasol (CC -FFVII-)

An umbrella appears as a weapon in CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII- as well! Zack Fair is pictured here fighting with a beach parasol in Costa del Sol – a perfect match for his swimwear!
