Kain (FFIV)

Youth-time compatriot and friendly rival of FINAL FANTASY IV protagonist Cecil. While he lost his parents early on, he inherited his father’s mental fortitude and prowess as a dragoon, carrying on his legacy. As leaders in the Kingdom of Baron’s military forces, Kain and Cecil work together to revolt against the king’s unjust ways, but Kain disappears soon after. When Cecil finally meets Kain again, the dragoon does unfathomable things such as trying to fight his friend. What has happened to Cecil’s once comrade...?

Freya Crescent (FFIX)

Once a dragoon of the rat-like race of Burmecians who protected the country’s king, but when her lover Sir Fratley disappears, she goes on a journey to find him. She had adventured with FINAL FANTASY IX protagonist Zidane in the past, and when she meets him again during the Festival of the Hunt and hears about the trouble in her homeland from him, she joins him on his journey.

Dion Lesage (FFXVI)

Crown prince of the Holy Empire of Sanbreque and leader of its noblest and most feared order of knights—the dragoons. Dion is loved and respected by both his people and his troops, not least for the many times he has turned the tide of battle in their favor. Indeed, songs of the heroism of the warrior prince and his Eikon Bahamut, King of Dragons, are never far from the lips and lutes of Sanbrequois bards.
