Despite being the firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria, Clive does not inherit the Phoenix’s flames and awaken as his homeland’s Dominant, with fate instead choosing his younger brother Joshua for the role.

Clive dedicates himself to studying swordsmanship, winning the ducal tournament and gaining the title of First Shield of Rosaria, his younger brother’s protector, blessed with the ability to utilize a portion of the Phoenix’s fire.
