Happy new year, everyone! This is Natsu Kawasaki – I handle character concept art for FFXIV.

2025 is the year of the snake in the Chinese Zodiac, so I chose to feature a motif of the viper job from FFXIV in this illustration. I decided from the early stages that I wanted the art to convey a sense of warmth, like a beautiful beam of light. As I worked on this piece, in my mind I envisioned an adventurer at a bustling festival.

Dawntrail released last year, and we’ve still got lots of new ideas we’re working to bring to life, so I hope you’ll all enjoy what’s in store!
