February 9 is the Day of Wind in Japan, so in this FF Weekly we’d like to take the time to share a few windy characters from across the FINAL FANTASY series!

Tiamat, the Fiend of Wind (FFI)

The first to awaken of the four fiends trying destroy the world of FFI, who ravaged the land belonging to the Lufenian race 400 years ago and is intercepting the power of the wind crystal.

Sylph (FFIV)

A fairy Eidolon who is actually kind-hearted despite her dislike for humans. Her summon ability Whisperwind both deals damage to enemies and heals the party, making her especially useful after Rydia forgets how to use white magic.

Bartz (FFV)

At the Wind Shrine, when FFV main characters Bartz, Lenna, Galuf and Faris learn they are the warriors of light, the wind crystal entrusts Bartz with “Passion, the essence of wind...”

Chaos (FFXII)

An Esper found in the Necrohol of Nabudis, called the “Walker of the Wheel.” When summoned, Chaos’s abilities Whirlwind and Tornado deal wind element damage to its foes.
