It’s been 23 years since FINAL FANTASY VII was released on January 31st, 1997 in Japan, and the first chapter of the long-awaited FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE will be released on April 10th, 2020. In honor of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE’s release, FF Weekly will be a FFVII extravaganza until the game’s launch!

FINAL FANTASY VII is the story of Avalanche, a resistance group fighting the Shinra Electric Power Company, a conglomerate that threatens to suck the world dry of mako―the very life force of the planet.

The main character, Cloud Strife―who claims to be an ex-member of Shinra’s elite fighting force, SOLDIER―first assists Avalanche as a mercenary-for-hire.

However, in their fight against the Shinra Electric Power Company it comes to light that Cloud’s nemesis Sephiroth, the legendary SOLDIER thought to be dead, appears to be not only alive but has begun taking drastic actions against the planet itself. Cloud decides that he must fight to find Sephiroth and stop him from achieving his goals.
